This morning we went to the FARE allergy walk in support of cousin Nolan, and as we recently learned, Chase. The walk was down by the Ohio River. The rain held off and we all got to walk for a great cause and support these cute little guys.

From land to sea
Halfway through lessons - getting there! They are getting much more comfortable being in the water and are even jumping into it now without anyone needing to be there to catch them.

Duck Dynasty - anywhere, anytime
After church tonight Daddy was working with someone on the projector and Uncle Steve was cleaning the church building. Somehow Duck Dynasty ended up on the overhead projector and screen. I don't think Jacob was complaining any by the smile on his face. Thanks to Uncle Steve for the picture!
Admin Prof day
At work today we got our Administrative Professional Day gifts - a folding lawn chair, emblazoned with the firm logo of course! It actually is pretty nice and will be great to add to the collection to take with us to the kid's games.

Kids online
I really like that the kids are learning about computer safety at school. Today they taught them about their offline identity, who they really are, and their online identity, and that it shouldn't show who they are offline. We certainly discussed this and continue to follow up with technology lessons which I'm sure will only continue well into the future.

Generous child
At church this morning I checked to make sure Emily had her money to put in the collection plate and saw that she had pulled a dollar bill out of her little wallet. She has such a gentle heart and even at 8 years old wants to be pleasing to God. I'm sure God was smiling right along with me at that moment.

Perfectionist vs. Stain
I finally caught up to the other creative people, or creative wannabe's, and got on Pinterest. I found this great tutorial about staining cabinets and thought hey, I could do that, so I decided I should stain the master bathroom cabinets. What I didn't plan on is the problems that a perfectionist would have with a dark colored stain. It was a process that took a couple of weeks and a lot of patience on my part but the results were worth it and I am so happy with the results. I may just be on to something with this Pinterest after all!

Emily's song, mismatch day and Jacob's honors
Emily wrote a hysterical song about worms. Cracked us up!
Jacob got on the A/B honor roll once again! We are so proud of our little smartie. Emily made him a card to congratulate him.
Miss match day at school today - or as Emily calls it, "mitchmatch" day! Wow - what an outfit!

Christian birthday, Sacagawea & things I love
Today was Jacob's 1st Christian birthday so Emily made him a sweet card that said "You're like a great rainbow. You did a great job! Love you! to Jacob with Love, Emily" and then Happy 1st birthday, Happy Christian 1st birthday to Jacob!"
Emily was Sacagawea for the wax museum at her school. She had a speech she had to say and when you wanted to hear it you pressed the red button. Her speech was all written out but she had it memorized down pat!
Jacob wrote an "I love" poem. I love it! It describes him and his stage in life perfectly. He is such a sweet boy and to see all the things he loves written out really touched my heart.
Want the truth?
Jacob told me that the kids at school ask him a question if they want the truth about something because they know he'll give it to them. Not in a bad way, but because he said "they know I don't lie." They also asked him why he always tells the truth and he said "because it's the right thing to do." So proud of that boy!

1st timer
Jacob participated in church services for the first time today by reading scripture at the Sunday night singing and scripture reading service. He was so nervous but knew he wanted to do it and he did a great job. We were so proud of him and know that this is only the first of many ways he will be publicly serving the Lord.

1st Red's game of the season
Today we went to the first game in our Chapman 6 pack! The game was sunny, a beautiful early April day. We loved seeing our Reds back in action. After the Reds game was over we got to watch the Bearcats play at the stadium too! The kids even got on the jumbotron! We're looking forward to the rest of the season and having more family fun at the ballpark.

Rough week flowers
I have the BEST husband there is! He knew I had been having a horrible week at work. When I got home from work today this is what met me. Seeing my hubby, kids and the pretty flowers were just the perk up that I needed!
