End of school artwork - May, 2010

Our last bit of artwork from our little artists for the 09/10 school year. Can't wait to see what kindergarten and 3rd grade bring us!

Jacob's 8th Birthday

How is it possible that our little guy is 8 years old already?? We had a family birthday party for him Friday night. He had a blast celebrating with everyone. He was lucky enough to get a lot of wonderful gifts: Pokemon cards (the theme of the party), Iron Man items, a basketball hoop and a swingset! He even ate two pieces of cake at the party! Quite a change from just last year when he didn't even like cake. On Sunday, for his actual birthday, he got a few Star Wars items from us. We dined at Frisch's for lunch, his choice. For dinner we celebrated with Uncle Steve, whose birthday was the next day, and had another cake of course! A great fun-filled birthday weekend!

Emily's preschool graduation

Emily's movin' on up - to kindergarten??? Our baby graduated from preschool today. The little ceremony was fun. They read a little paper for each child while they got their diploma. We found out, along with everyone else, that when she grows up she wants to be a "rockstar or a cooker." Dream big girl and take care of Momma & Daddy in their old age! We are so proud of her for a great year. She's looking forward to kindergarten and riding the bus. She's so ready socially and academically for K. Hopefully Mommy will be too by the time school is ready to start in August - but you can bet I'll have a few tissues in hand!

Jacob's 2nd grade field trip

Jacob had a field trip that fell on Mommy's off day from work so Mommy signed up in a hurry. We rode the school bus (been years since Mommy's been on one of those!) to Miami University and went to the geology and science labs. They learned all sorts of stuff about animals, bugs, birds and rocks. We had a picnic lunch outside on a beautiful day. Mommy loved seeing Jacob with all of his friends and seeing him interact in his own environment. We had a great day!

Wanna go to your 1st concert?

Either Mommy and Daddy are really great parents or we are completely crazy, but we got tickets for the four of us to go see the Jonas Brothers and Demi Levato with friends from Camp Rock in concert later this summer. This video is where we asked the kids if they would like to go. You can't really hear Jacob, but he's asking if we are going to see Shrek 3 which had just come out the day before. Both of the kids were very excited and Emily was Miss Drama, telling us she broke her leg jumping because she was so excited. I should've worded the question differently or just told them we were going because I don't think they fully understand that we were actually going. This will be the first concert for the both of them. I'll be sure to post pictures and video in August after the concert!

Red's game

FC Booster night took us down to the Red's stadium the night before the Civil Rights game. They were still celebrating the entire weekend and tonight they had a fireworks night. One of the best shows we've ever seen. The fireworks were set to music and so close up. The finale literally had us shaking in our seats. The weather was beautiful and it was a terrific night out the ballpark.

Jacob starring as Thomas Jefferson

Jacob's 2nd grade class, along with a few other classes, put on a wonderful show tonight. Our son starred as Thomas Jefferson, complete with a speaking part. We are so proud of him and the great job that he did. We were also very impressed with all of the songs he sang with his class.
