Jacob brought this paper home from school and it made us soooo proud! His dreams as a 10 year old boy are to 1. be a basketball player and 2. to help people get to heaven. It warms our hearts to see that he know what to focus on life and that he's planning for his future, both here on earth and for eternity!

My 35th
It's official, I am now in my mid 30's. The early 30's are a thing of the past. For whatever reason, this birthday is bothering me more than any of my others. It didn't stop me from celebrating though! I had a nice long weekend of celebrations. Scott and the kids got me a Cake Boss cake and it was delicious! I've certainly been blessed with a great year and when I focus on that I realize that age is truly just a number.

2nd Quarter Awards
Emily also had a great quarter, getting all of the top numbers and an excellent comment from her teacher. She's looking forward to being able to participate in the awards ceremony in a few years.

The Superbowl or the Commercials?
Here's a snipet of a conversation from the car today between Jacob and me about the Superbowl game...
"Jacob - everyone is all excited about the commercials. I'm excited about the game.
Me - I'm excited about the game too, and the commercials.
Jacob - that's cuz you're a real woman!"

100th day
Emily (and Jacob) had their 100th day of school today. Guess it's a bigger deal in 2nd grade because Emily had all kind of activities planned for today. They had to wear a uniform or sports shirt with numbers - she wore her Dalton jersey, had to wear a lot of pockets - she wore jeans that had four pockets and even made a headband decoration that said 100 to help celebrate!
