Emily can be serious and playful. Example 1 - serious. She wanted to learn how to wash the dishes. She put on my gloves and off she went. She took her good 'ol time and taught me some patience, but in the end, she did a great job. Example 2 - playful. She got ahold of my cell phone and thought it would be funny to take pictures of her face up close. She was just giggling and then came over and handed me my phone. That girl certainly knows how to keep life interesting.

13 years
Today Scott and I celebrated 13 years of marriage! I can't believe it's been that long - it certainly doesn't seem like it. They have been the best years of my life. We have truly been blessed with each other and the love that we share. We don't take any of it for granted and thank God for it all. I look forward to spending more years with my love.

Congrats Adam & Heather
Today we went to Adam and Heather's wedding. It was very small and intimate. We had a great afternoon with the Mullins family. We wish them much love and happiness in their future.

Grandma's retirement
After 42 years of working in Labor & Delivery Mom/Gramma decided to retire! Tonight we went to her retirement party/dinner. It was really neat to see all of her co-workers with her and hear all of their nice words. She got some really nice going away gifts. I heard how much my Mom and I looked alike in her nursing school picture. We are thankful for all of her years of hard work and wish her lots of rest and relaxation in the years to come.

Time to go home
We've all got some color, are tired of slathering up in sunscreen multiple times a day and are missing our own beds and pillows - yup, it's time to head home. The condo was very nice. Jacob camped out on the floor of the living room. Emily took residence in the lower bunk. The pool was fun as always and was even better this year as the kids were able to practice their new skills they learned in swim class over the last few weeks. The ominous looking sky in Florida should've been our sign as we had the worst drive home - lots of traffic, lots of accidents and the most horrible downpours and driving weather ever. The kids were troopers and watched lots of movies. Emily tried to sleep with her sleepmask - so cute. We got home pretty late and went right to bed. It's always nice to go away and it's always nice to get back home. We are so thankful for yet another outstanding vacation!

Last day at the beach
The week always goes so fast even if the days seem long and relaxing. We've had a fantastic week. After we spent another day the beach we got all cleaned up and went back out for some more formal family pictures. Everyone loves to oblige Mommy when she wants to do this! I'm always lucky enough to find some poor soul that's nice enough to stop and take a picture of all four of us. I think we've got some good ones, they might even be Christmas card worthy! The last time our toes will touch the sand until next year...
