Emily's 1st day of kindergarten

I have no idea how this is even possible - our little girl is in kindergarten!!! Where have the last five years gone???  Emily was so excited about starting school, mostlly about getting to ride the school bus.  She will do great in school - she's so smart, is very social and likes to learn.  We can't wait to see what this year brings!

1st game of fall soccer 2010

And so it begins again, another soccer season!  Both of the kids are playing this year.  Emily team is "The Reds" and Daddy is the coach.  They play five on five on two different small fields, broken down with non-agressive and aggressive games.  And guess which field our little angel is on?  Yup, the agressive one!  Jacob's team is the "Black Wolves".  They are 3rd and 4th graders and what a difference a year makes!  Boys at this age are all about competition and winning.  And so are the coaches!  We are looking forward to watching them have fun and grow althletically.  Oh and we'll try to enjoy all the driving to and from practices 4 nights a week!!!

Jacob's 1st day of 3rd grade

3rd grade already??? I think I'm going to ask myself this every year (about both kids).  He wasn't quite ready for the summer to be over, but what kid really is?  We met his teachers at open house - both of which were very nice.  This is the first year he has what are called "switch" teachers - one to teach reading, word work, spelling, etc., the other to teach math, science and social studies.  After going to open house he all of the sudden became excited about the school year.  It's going to be great!

It's a princess kind of life

Today Emily went to her friend Lilly's 5th birthday party. It was a princess party. Emily went as Cinderella. Princess Jasmine actually came to the party! The girls were thrilled and had a great time!
